Delayed!

Well, they are delayed with our house! They found coal while digging so I guess they had to dig much further down and have an engineer to keep testing the soil? Now they have to refill with fresh soil before they do the footers and foundation! Ughhhh! I thought things were good! I guess things were at a haul and I didn't even know it :( frustrated! 2 weeks in and nothing is done...still just a boring hole! They said still a closing date of June 24th!

  3. Ohh, bummer but hey that does not affect your closing date or anything which is a good thing! I am sure the crew are working hard to get it going back on track and intent to keep things on schedule. Remember, it does not affect anything so that is a good thing....... =)

Does your PM keep in touch with you through emails or something to keep you updated on what is going on?

  4. My pm has not been too good :( We only found out because we were calling to ask a question! We have not even talked to him once otherwise! We didn't even know there was a problem. I don't know if this is common or not. They said in our plan this happened with 6 other houses? Crazy! They should have pre warned us of this! Maybe it's no big deal....who knows! Better not have no long term effects on house! Thank god I decided on a foundation, pre drywall, and final inspection on my own!!

  5. Btw there are no lots left and we are living with my parents because my current house is already sold!! That would NOT be good! Lol

  6. You have the right to ask your PM to have a weekly update or some kind of continuing information on your house. When we were on our pre-construction meeting my PM gave us his contact information his email and his phone number as a way to contact him. He said that he can update us weekly then my hubby said that he plans to stop by the site everyday and wants a daily update LOL the PM looked at us and said ohhh so I guess you will make me work for the money his eyes were all wide it was kind of funny. Please do talk with your PM and arrange some kind of updates and it is hard when you live 45 minutes away wanting to know the housing progress. Sorry for my ramblings LOL.

If they have experience with 6 other houses then that means they know what they are doing and have ways of getting things back on track. Your closing date does not change anything. You hiring an inspector will be good and your PM will make sure things are run smoothly to avoid any mishaps.

  10. I hear ya living with the mom thing. Although my mom has been making me lunches, lol

Gotta love PA. And yes you should be speaking with your PM at least weekly. I call ours Monday afternoons. He has my number in his cell phone and just answers like we've been friends for years, lol.

  11. Maybe we will get a closer relationship with PM as time goes on! It has only been 2 weeks! The only reason for the same close date is we paid for 120 day lock! So they are on a tight time constraint! They have been procrastinating a lot! It expires June 24th! They promised us house would be done then! I wish I got lunches every day. I am so ready to move into my new house and get some privacy! We butt heads a lot, my mom and I! I appreciate her allowing us to live here but its tough! I hate someones input on how to raise my kids all the time! Ughhhh

  13. I pray it all works out for you, I think someone would have contacted you if the coal was a big issue, since there has not been any official date changes I would not worry but it would not hurt to try and do some research of your own in regards to the coal.

in regards to "MOMS" we can't live with them and definetly do not want to live without them. MOM'S will be MOM'S
